"The Day the cross Changed Everything"
By Okafor Benjamin
Renowned Catholic priest, Fr. Ebube Muonso, delivered a powerful sermon on Sunday, emphasizing the transformative power of the cross. He reminded his congregation that Jesus' ultimate sacrifice on the cross of Calvary marked the end of humanity's struggles, as Jesus cried out, "It is finished."
Fr. Ebube Muonso prayed for the Adorers, asking God to bring an end to their problems, just as Jesus did on the cross. He stressed that everyone has their own cross to bear in life, but reassured them that God's grace is sufficient to carry them through. "Inside your cross is your victory and salvation," he encouraged.
The priest urged his congregation not to give up in their faith, even when faced with challenges. "Delay in the hand of God is not denial," he reminded them. Instead, he encouraged them to focus on their dreams and desires, citing St. John of the Cross, who said that lack of concentration is a major obstacle to achieving success.
The Sunday mass was marked by two remarkable testimonies. Mr. Emeka from Umudioka shared his story of waiting for many years for a male child, only to be blessed with triplet, two of whom are boys. He praised Fr. Ebube Muonso as a prophet of God. Another testimony came from a woman who had been barren for over 15 years but was finally blessed with a child.
Fr. Ebube Muonso concluded his sermon by reiterating the significance of the cross as a symbol of restoration and victory over the devil's powers. His inspiring words left a lasting impact on his congregation, reminding them of the transformative power of faith.
